Fabric Care & Maintenance Guide

Fine handcrafted Indian textiles reward mindful care with decades of radiant color and graceful drape.

Pure Viscose Georgette

  • Dry clean is recommended for the first wash to preserve the delicate crepe twist.
  • Subsequent washes: Use lukewarm or cold water with mild liquid detergent.
  • Never wring or twist aggressively; roll inside a dry towel to absorb excess moisture.
  • Iron on reverse side using low-to-medium heat with a protective press cloth.

Worked & Lucknowi Chikankari

  • Strictly dry clean only to protect intricate Resham threads and delicate sequin highlights.
  • Store folded in breathable unbleached mulmul or muslin covers.
  • Avoid spraying perfumes or deodorants directly onto embroidery.
  • Steam iron on the reverse side only.

Chanderi & Banarasi Silk

  • Dry clean only to maintain metallic zari lustre and pure silk crispness.
  • Refold silk fabrics every few months to prevent permanent fold creases along zari lines.
  • Keep away from direct dampness and moisture.
  • Iron strictly on low silk temperature on the reverse.

Handloom Mulmul Cotton

  • Hand wash or gentle machine cycle in cold water with mild organic detergent.
  • Line dry in natural shade away from harsh direct midday sunlight.
  • Warm iron while the fabric is still slightly damp for a crisp, smooth finish.
  • Becomes progressively softer with every gentle wash.
